The success of the company being family-managed in the third generation has not been achieved by chance. After the Second World War, the founder of the company, Hermann Schmidt, settled in Essen and, first, established an agency for products for the sanitary and heating industry. In 1961, the company developed business transactions on own account – at first pipe fittings, later also valves under the brand name HS. The central warehouse at Essen-Kupferdreh is the turn-table for all company market activities. Here, about 5.000 articles are being stored on 18.000 square metres.
Three pillars have been forming the basis for the company success: The manufactoring of fittings and valves, the export into the most important markets of the world and the function as sale agent for German and foreign manufacturers of high-quality products for house installations.
